Gandhi Jayanthi 150th Year Celebration

Gandhi Jayanthi, the 150 th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhiji was celebrated on 2nd October 2019, in the quadrangle of St Joseph’s Indian High School in the presence of all the management and staff of St Joseph’s Indian Institutions and students of St Joseph’s Indian High School. A peaceful ambience prevailed as the programme started with a prayer service performed by the teachers of St Joseph’s Indian High School, in the form of ‘Sarva Dharma Prarthana’ by reading a verse each from the Bible, Quran, Bhagavatgeetha followed by a harmonious rendition of ‘Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye’, the song which was dearest to Mahatma Gandhiji.
It was followed by a speech describing the life of Gandhiji and facts about him that help us learn good values. Fr. Leo Pereira SJ, rector of St Joseph’s Indian Institutions proceeded to address the students regarding the aims and goals of Mahatma Gandhiji and the importance of following peaceful and non-violent forms of communication.
