Student Level Celebration of the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola

In honor of the Feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola celebrated on the 31st of July 2019, a student level celebration was held in the main auditorium on the 30th of July 2019 in the presence of all the students and staff of St. Joseph’s Indian High School. The program was organised by the staff members and students of SJIHS. The chief guest for the program was Fr. Rohan SJ, the headmaster of St. Joseph’s CBSE School, Bengaluru.

The program began with an invocation song performed by the class of 10 B headed by Mr. Amruthraj. Mrs. Savitha welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering following which, a skit performed by a team of high school students depicting the life and principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola, under the guidance of Mr. Praveen, Fr. Felix Anand SJ and Mr. Minishame Gowda. After the touching performance, Rev Fr Rohan SJ proceeded in addressing the students regarding the principles that St. Ignatius proposed and the importance of oneness, respecting each other and finding the good within us and others. A song was sung by a group of the teaching staff headed by Fr. Felix Anand SJ acclaiming St Ignatius of Loyola which was followed by a song ‘Noble Knight’ sung by a group of students under the guidance of Mrs. Reshma D’Souza and Mr. Lokesh.

After the performances, certificates were distributed to all the winners of the Prerana competitions held on the 27th of July 2019 in honor of the Feast of St Ignatius of Loyola. The headmaster wished all the winners and all the students a happy feast and declared the next day to be a holiday. The program concluded with the distribution of snacks to all the students and the staff members in the spirit of celebration.
