Student Seminars for High School Students

The students of 8th, 9th and 10th standard were engaged in a series of academic seminars organized by the student counsellors of St. Joseph’s Indian High School from the 5th of July to the 8th of July 2019 to help them get equipped to take the right decisions in the academic year with skills on studying, time management and goal setting and coping with difficult emotions.

Fr. Jeevan Prabhu SJ addressed the students of 8th and 9th STD on the importance of setting goals in the academic settings and generally in their lives. Engaging the students in videos and activities, he demonstrated how setting short term goals help achieve the bigger goal efficiently. He also trained the students of 10th STD in developing study skills and time management to assist them in their preparation for the board exams. Ms. Nirma D’Souza and Ms. Akhila G.R engaged the students of 8th, 9th and 10th STD, bringing their emotions to their awareness, the various emotions that a person in their teenage might face and positive ways of coping with them. The movie ‘Inside Out’ was screened for the better understanding of the situations that they might face and the manner to deal with them. Br. Arun Lobo SJ addressed the students of 8th and 9th STD and enlightened them about the importance of respect, respecting oneself and respecting others around them through the A to Z forms of respectful behaviors. Fr. Arun Sunil Lobo SJ imparted study skills and time management for the students of 8th and 9th standard to help them streamline their thoughts and study efficiently to attain their set goals for the year.
