Annual Day Celebrations - 2017

The Annual Day Celebration in the High School was held on 7th January 2017, in the School Quadrangle at 4.30pm. Dr Shankar Prasad , the Medical Director, St Philomena’s Hospital Bangalore was the Chief Guest and Sri Abdul Wajid Khaji, DDPI Bangalore North was the Guest of Honour.

The Programme started with the Prayer Dance; followed by ‘Lighting of the Lamp’ by the dignitaries on the dais .The meritorious students of Std VIII, IX and X were awarded with Merit Certificates.

The Biology teacher of the High school and the Vice Principal of St Joseph’s Composite PU College; Dr Vincent was honoured on his retirement. His excellent teaching, meticulous planning & committed service in the High School was applauded. His Biology classes were recalled fondly. The students declared that Dr. Vincent used to bring life to his Biology classes. The Silver Jubilarian Teacher: Mrs Elizabeth Jacob was felicitated for her tireless service. Her concern for the Kannada medium students was appreciated.

The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour spoke highly about our school. They stated that St. Joseph’s Indian High School not only strives for Academic excellence but also strives to be an exemplary institution for the alround development of pupils. They also exclaimed that many Educational Institutions look up to our school to emulate its values.

The students presented a colourful programme on the beautiful stage and enthralled the audience. The hard work of the High school staff is praise worthy. The Cultural Programme Included the Classical, the Folk, the Contemporary, the Fusion and the Hip Hop dances’ along with a ‘Play on Environment’. The ‘Play’ was an eye opener for all of us n saving and protecting the environment. The value of Non-renewable resources was depicted very beautifully. The Annual Report of the school was presented with Power Point Presentation by our Principal Rev Fr Gerald Furtado SJ . Rev Fr Leo Pereira, the Rector of the Institution delivered a brief and impressive address. An elaborate ‘Vote of Thanks’ was rendered beautifully and efficiently by our Vice Principal; Rev Fr Cyril Menezes. On the whole, the Annual Day celebrations will be cherished for times to come.
